The exciting 2022–23 financial year has entered its final two weeks. In years past, state nomination would already have wrapped up by now. But this year’s quotas are generous, so some state governments are still going all out to use up their allocations.
Today the Department of Home Affairs published, on its official website, the actual usage of each state’s nomination quota for the 22-23 financial year up to the end of May 2023. At this stage, state nomination has entered its wind-down phase, so we are taking this opportunity to recap how each state has fared this financial year.
