State nomination is still pushing! QLD reopens its final priority channel! TAS accelerates invitations and processing!

The exciting 2022–23 financial year has entered its final two weeks. In years past, state nomination would already have wrapped up by now. But this year’s quotas are generous, so some state governments are still going all out to use up their allocations.

QLD reopens its priority processing channel one last time
By the end of May, Queensland had the lowest quota usage of any state — fewer than 75% of its Subclass 190 places used and fewer than 70% of its Subclass 491 places — so Queensland is making one final push!

Today it announced an emergency priority processing channel open from 14–18 June 2023
Applicant requirements:
– You must be working and living within Queensland, or be an offshore applicant — meaning graduates and small-business-owner (SBO) stream applicants are not eligible
– You must meet the requirements of the Queensland onshore work stream or the offshore stream
– Take note: applications must be decision-ready, so before lodging through the priority channel, make sure all your documents are fully prepared

This financial year Queensland has favoured STEM fields, with invitations seen for engineering and computing occupations
However, applying through the priority channel does not guarantee an invitation

Although graduate and SBO stream applicants cannot apply through the priority channel, their applications are still being processed.Just today, one of our clients received a Subclass 491 pre-invitation!
