The FY23-24 state-nomination allocations are in, and state governments have now received their new official quotas. Every state’s allocation has been slashed dramatically — down to roughly 30% of previous levels.
Last Friday, every state except Victoria and Western Australia responded to the allocation figures released on Thursday — most along the lines of “noted, under review”. Only the Northern Territory took a more drastic line, quickly suspending new applications.
