WA May Round: 1,600 Invitations Issued — Accounting, IT and Engineering Need Just 60-65 Points!

Better late than never — Western Australia has released the full data for its May invitation round. Overall, this round invited more candidates from overseas and interstate, and most were Subclass 491 invitations. The general stream Sch2 that everyone watches most closely still only invited applicants already in the state, with the points threshold dropping slightly!

New Zealand’s Migration Policy Is Looking Great This Year! A Genuine Springboard to Australian PR → New Zealand Citizens Can Convert Directly to Australian Citizenship

On 22 April this year, the New Zealand and Australian governments announced a plan: from 1 July, New Zealand citizens who have lived in Australia for four years or more and arrived after 2001 can apply for Australian citizenship directly. New Zealanders will no longer need to obtain Australian PR first before becoming eligible for Australian citizenship—a change that will directly affect roughly 350,000 New Zealanders living in Australia.
