Australia wants to help migrants find work that matches their skills! CEDA recommends an online platform to match skills with jobs! Are accountants, civil engineers and chefs the biggest victims of wasted talent?

The Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA) recently analysed data from the Department of Home Affairs and Seek, and found that 23% of permanent migrants (PR) in Australia are currently working in jobs below their skill level.

As the points required for Subclass 189/190 keep climbing and work experience requirements increase, quite a few study-abroad graduates have built up a certain amount of relevant work experience. And because Subclass 189 and state nomination pathways are becoming harder and harder to secure, relevant work experience has shifted from something used to gain points or meet an application threshold, to becoming the key that opens the door to employer sponsorship!
