PY Validity Is Only Three Years, Not Four — Let’s Prove It Using the Migration Act

A misconception has long circulated that the PY validity period runs for four years from the date the certificate is issued. In fact, according to the legislators behind the Migration Act, that isn't quite right. Legally speaking, the PY validity period actually runs for four years from the start date of the PY (since a PY generally takes 10 months to complete, in practice the PY validity period works out to roughly 3 years and 2 months from graduation), and this is by no means nonsense. SA State Nomination: Quotas Up! Offshore Applications Open! Is There Still a Path for Social Work Migration Without 4×7 in IELTS?!

Late last week, the Department of Home Affairs updated the 2020-21 financial year state nomination quotas, and South Australia came out the biggest winner! With only a month and a half left in the financial year, SA's Subclass 190 gained 500 new places and Subclass 491 gained 150 new places (compared with the previous quota — the figures shown are total quotas).
