Queensland State Nomination Launches Priority Processing — This Week Only!

The 2022–23 financial year has been a landmark year for Australian skilled migration — with good news flowing from the second half of 2022 right into 2023.

The surge of Subclass 189 invitations at the federal level effectively pressured states holding large state nomination allocations —NSWresponded immediately by removing all occupation pre-requirements and issuing large numbers of pre-invitations at the end of January.Victoriatook an even more aggressive stance at the very start of the financial year — lowering requirements to a minimum, welcoming applications from all nominated occupations, and issuing thousands of invitations round after round.

So what about the third-largest state —Queensland? The policies announced at the start of the financial year were not particularly attractive, and invitations were issued slowly — one by one, each processed individually. With that sluggish pace,by the end of 2022, Queensland had used only 24% of its 3,000 Subclass 190 allocation and just 23.6% of its 2,000 Subclass 491 allocation.

Now, Queensland has finally woken up!

Queensland has today announced Priority Processing for certain state nomination applicants.
