Victoria ROI Invitations: Another Big Round! IT Wins Big, with Auditors, Marketing Officers and Contract Administrators Also Invited

Victoriahas made a good habit over its recent rounds of announcing ROI invitations before issuing them. This morning Victoria announced a round for 29 November, and it went out before noon the same day.

The chart below shows, as of publication time,
the invitation data we gathered internally and externally

This is Victoria’s fourth round of invitations for the current financial year, and it counts as a major round both in the number of invitations issued and in the variety of occupations covered.

A Bumper Round for IT Professionals

Work Experience Required + “10-point Spouse”

The largest share went to IT, with popular roles such assoftware engineers, ICT business analysts, and developer programmers, while less common roles such asweb designer,ICT support engineeralso received invitations

– If onshore,Victorian salaries are on the higher end; if offshore, applicants generally haveclaimed at least 5 points of work-experience bonus, anda spouse who adds 10 points.
For instance, our invited IT clients also had spouses with skills assessments and strong English, and the spouses themselves met Victoria’s lodgement requirements.

Common Occupations — Offshore Applicants Landing Unexpected Wins

Welcoming applicants with extensive

offshore work experience

Across four rounds, Victoria has essentially valued priority occupations, work experience, high Victorian salaries (for onshore applicants), and a 10-point spouse.

From the detailed case-sharing we have seen, this financial year IT/Engineering invitations have clustered in the 80–90 point band; relatively few applicants received invitations on only 1 year of relevant work experience — most had claimed multiple years. Onshore invitees tended to earn AUD 100,000+ annually. Otherwise, applicants had ultra-high scores of 100+.

The three major states — NSW, Victoria and Queensland — mostly look at work-related criteria regardless of whether applicants are onshore or offshore, so offshore applicants tend to see more invitations. After all, it is relatively hard for purely-graduated international students to accumulate 3, 5 or more years of work experience while still onshore at the time of lodgement.

With quotas limited this year, no single applicant profile any longer guarantees an invitation — the more closely you match each state government’s preferences, the more likely you are to be invited.

Offshore applicants with substantial experience are welcome —
