New Employer-Sponsored PR Policy: Which Applicants and Occupations Benefit Directly or Indirectly? What about Graduates and Offshore Applicants?

The benefits of employer sponsorship have been growing since last Friday, and many people have come to ask:I saw the policy, can I apply?

So this new employer sponsorship policyWho will benefit directly and potentially? What?

482What is TSS employer sponsorship?

Simply put, it is aA temporary visa that first allows the holder to work in Australia, satisfyAfter working for the employer for 2 years and other requirementsOKTransfer to permanent residency (186 TRT channel)

Roughly the entire process:
The applicant has2 years of full-time work experience in the nominated occupation+Have an Australian employerWilling to sponsor a job in the nominated occupationandsalaryMeet the requirements*—the applicant becomes an employer againWorked for at least 2 years-–Applicants sponsored by employersTransfer to permanent residency(186TRT)

*The current TSMIT is 70,000 AUDs per year

This change one:
Subclass 482 TSS can be transferred to permanent residency
(There was an error in the previous article, thank you for the correction)

Before change:There is no direct channel for 482 visa holders with occupations on the STSOL (short term) list to transfer to permanent residency.

After the change:Subclass 482 TSS holders whose nominated occupation is on any list of MLTSSL/STSOL/ROL/labour agreement, as long as they are ANZSCO occupations, have the opportunity to transfer to permanent residency (186 TRT)

1. Direct benefits to the first group of people: those who already hold 482 and their occupation is on the short-term list can transfer to permanent residency.
This applies to applications submitted to 186 TRT on or after November 25, 2023, and also applies to 186 TRT applications that have been submitted before but have not been processed on November 25, 2023.

There are currently 215 occupations on the short-term list, all of which have the opportunity to obtain permanent residency through employer sponsorship.
Common occupations on STSOL short lists include:
sales and marketing manager
human resource manager
cafe or restaurant manager
conference and event organiser
photographer
copywriter
insurance broker
finance broker
financial investment adviser
recruitment consultant
organisation and methods analyst
information and organisation professionals (nec)
marketing specialist
graphic designer
interior designer
ICT sales representative
public relations professional
technical sales representatives (nec) including education sales representatives
web designer
web developer
database administrator
network administrator
ICT support engineer
private tutors and teachers (nec)
cook
hairdresser
retail buyer
massage therapist
contract administrator
interpreter
Wait

2. Directly benefit the second group of people: those who already have short-term employment
If your job is a short-term occupation,For example, for occupations such as marketing specialist/graphic design, you are studying for 491 or 190.482 employer sponsorship can now be used as PLAN B

If you are working in a short-term occupation and have at least close to 2 years of experience,You can even sponsor the 482 employerAs a Plan A, you can chat with your boss first. You are also welcome to contact us to specifically evaluate whether the employer and you meet the requirements.

3. Indirectly benefiting the first group of people: graduates who studied abroad
Work experience is becoming more and more important in all categories of Australian skilled immigrants, but for 189/190/491, in most cases, work experience related to skills assessment is required to be useful, but how easy is it to find a professional-related job for a fresh graduate?

482 employer sponsorship is different.

For most occupations, 482 employer sponsorship does not require a skills assessment, and more emphasis is placed on the consistency of your two years of full-time work experience with the nominated position provided by the subsequent employer. Therefore, the scope of job search for overseas graduates is wider.
For example aAustralian Accounting Master Graduate, found it after graduationMarketing workIf you work full-time for 2 years, you will have the opportunity to apply for 482 through the profession of marketing specialist.

In short, for international students, they have more choices to find a job after graduation. They don’t necessarily just think about 189 or state qualifications related to their major. There are at least 500 occupations for which you can apply for employer sponsorship!

4. Indirectly benefiting people: those who have applied for 491
If you have work experience and an employer is willing to sponsor you, you can consider 482 before applying for 491 (specialIt’s a short-term occupation, and there were fewer choices before.), you originally had to wait 3 years to transfer to 191, but after passing 482, you only need to wait 2 years to transfer to 186 TRT.

This change two
All Subclass 482 TSS visa holders can transfer to permanent residency (186 TRT) after working for an employer for 2 years.

Previously it took 3 years

Directly benefiting people: all current or future 482 holders
You can transfer to permanent residency faster, it’s so straightforward.

This change three

All short-term occupation Subclass 482 TSS can be renewed multiple times

482 visa holders with short-term occupations can also renew their 482 visa for the third or more times in China.

If you are overseas, are there any opportunities?

There is a chance, but only if you get oneJob opportunities provided by Australian employers, and also need to satisfy482 visa requires 2 years of full-time relevant work experience and corresponding technical and language requirements. These 2 years of full-time work experienceCan be accumulated overseas, providing relevantEmployment certification materialsThat’s it.

The difficulty for overseas applicants is to obtain sponsorship from an Australian employer.

If you have worked in Australia before, maybe you can talk to your previous employer?

The language and other requirements for 482 applicants, as well as the requirements for employers, have been mentioned many times before, so I won’t go into details here. If you don’t know yet, you can come to us for evaluation based on your occupation.~
