Weekly Migration News Summary
Migration Weekly
1. Xinzhou 190 opens all occupations to competition overseas and domestically!
While everyone was still waiting for the new state to confirm the 190 list and other policies, the person in charge of the new state state project revealed it in advance at the briefing meeting, and the state government’s official website was also updated the next afternoon.OverallNSW 190andInstead of tightening the quota due to the reduction, it is “flat” and open to all applicants, and then theyGo and choose.491will make major changes and raise the threshold, but the state government still needs more time to determine the policy. They are now clearing the backlog from last financial year.
NSW 190 financial year:
-MoveAll occupations on the Civil Affairs Bureau’s list can be submitted. No separate work experience and English requirements are set
-SetPriority industries include health/education/infrastructure/computer/agriculture. Competitive applicants from non-priority industries may also be invited
–Both overseas and domestic applicants can submit applications(domestic applicants must live in New South Wales for 6 months), compete together
– Overall, the selection process is from high to low EOI scores. This year, we emphasized that we will pay extra attention to work experience.
–The next round of invitations in New South Wales this year will be in the first week of October. After that, we will try to keep one round every month.
So the NSW 190 submission requirements are:
– Any occupation on the M/S/R list of the Migration Bureau and with corresponding occupation assessment
-EOI meets 65 points (get at least 60 by yourself)
-English IELTS 6 in each band
-Settled overseas or in New South Wales
NSW 491 this financial year
Relatively speaking, 491 is full of unknowns, and the policy list has not yet been determined. Now there is only one direction, such as:
– Priority will be given to those who already work and live locally, and the job stream in remote areas of New South Wales will most likely be retained.
-I don’t know yet whether the RDA channel still exists and what it will look like.
– There is a high probability that channels that can be submitted without work experience will not be retained.
-The state government will first review applications that have received pre-invitations in the previous financial year during this period.
NSW 190 is a test of patience, strength and ability, and requires a bit of luck, especially when the quota is reduced this financial year! For example, students majoring in ICT/infrastructure related majors will have a greater chance to secure a pathway and submit it to give it a try. You are welcome to contact the service team below to arrange an evaluation:

2. Victoria will issue the first round, with ICT/Engineering and Overseas being the winners!
Victoria’s policy this year is similar to that of New South Wales. It is open to everyone to submit, set priorities, and then select the best. Victoria is a little faster than New South Wales. The policy was finalized last week. Although it is not clear when the invitation will be sent, the invitation is coming. This week Victoria issued the first round of ROI pre-invitations.The number is quite large, and the direction of the invitation is very clear. The picture below is the invitation sharing we compiled for the September 25th round in Victoria:
-Engineering, medical and ICT majors are the mainstream
-The invitation score is between EOI85-90 points
-A large proportion of applicants are given to overseas applicants. Even for majors such as nursing and medical care, overseas applicants are mainly invited.
Most of the occupations invited fall into the priority occupations set by Victoria for this financial year, but the large-scale invitation to overseas applicants is a bit confusing, and the number issued is still quite large. It is also impossible to see that there is a huge advantage in work experience among the invited applicants (for example, more than 10 years of work experience). Some people also see that many overseas applicants have spouses who gain 10 points, but they also do not understand this selection principle.
I hope Victoria can make some adjustments, take more care of those already in the state, and achieve a balance. If you need to contact the Victoria State Guarantee Assessment, you can add the following service team:

3. South Australia is opening up and changing to a pre-invitation system, deleting several channels
The one that has made major adjustments to the rules in response to the sharp reduction in quotas should be South Australia, which finally announced its policy this week. System, occupation, priority industry, channel, and specific requirements have all been adjusted to varying degrees in South Australia. The specific performance is as follows:
–Changed to ROI system
– South Australia’s graduate channel and job channelAll jobs must be full time for 6 months (30h/week), and must work full-time
– Some professions clearly cannot apply for overseas applicants.
–South Australia’s Outer regional stream and Long resident stream are temporarily closed, and the outstanding graduates channel is cancelled.
-GivePreschool Education SheetThe language requirement of 7788 is set independently and cannot be exempted.
– There are 190 new opportunities for accounting graduates. If you meet the requirements of the graduate channel, you will have the opportunity to be invited to 190
There are four channels left in South Australia this financial year, namelyThe local graduate channel, the local job channel, the Highly Skilled and Talented channel (both domestic and overseas can apply), and the overseas applicant channel.
South Australia Graduate Channel
– First determine whether the nominated occupation is suitable for graduates.
-Currently living and working in South Australia
-IELTS 4 and 6 or equivalent English proficiency
Unless your nominated occupation has special requirements because it requires registration or permission to practice in South Australia
-Meet the following study requirements:
*Courses in SA must be registered with CRICOS and be at least 46 CRICOS weeks:
*Studying meets the minimum qualification level listed in the nominated occupation in the Skilled Occupations List
*At least 50% of academic qualifications completed in South Australia
*Must reside in South Australia for at least one year during study period
– Have lived in South Australia for at least 12 months
– Has been working for the past 6 months and currently works full-time (at least 30 hours per week). The job must be related to your nominated occupation and of the same skill level. (The first two digits of the Anzsco code for the current job and the nominated occupation are considered relevant if they match)
South Australia work channel
– First determine whether the nominated occupation is eligible for the South Australian job channel
– Have lived in South Australia for at least the past 12 months
-Has been working for the past 6 months and currently works full-time (at least 30 hours per week)
– The current job belongs to the same group as the first two digits of the Anzsco code of the nominated occupation
For more information on the Highly Skilled and Talented channel (you can apply both domestically and overseas) and the overseas applicant channel, please see:The South Australian state tour is now open and will be changed to ROI pre-invitation system! Priority is given to seven major industries, each channel is explained in detail, and submission can be made overseas!

4. Parental migration reform confirmed; new migration strategy will be announced soon; 888 will be accelerated
There are three more important visa news this week.
1. The Minister of Home Affairs will announce a new migration strategy next week or the week after
According to previous spoilers, it is very likely that we will see something related to employer guarantee. We also look forward to seeing whether we can see the general direction of the reform of other categories of visas.
2. The Minister of Migration becomes a parent and migration needs to be reformed
The issues of parent migration backlog and waiting period were raised in the migration review report at the beginning of the year, which recommended a lottery system. The Migration Service has been non-committal and rarely responded positively to the parent migration reform. It only said that it would try its best to deal with the backlog. On Thursday, the Migration Minister made it clear thatParental migration reform is one of their priorities, but the backlog of about 100,000 makes this problem complex and huge.No single measure can completely solve the problem。They are considering the recommendations in the review report carefully and are continuing to communicate and solicit more opinions. The existing system and review will continue.
3. More resources have been allocated to investment migration, and we hope that most of the 888 cases will be processed before the end of the year.
Focus on processing the backlog of a single category quickly. We have seen it before in 887 and 191. To this day, these two categories still maintain rapid approval, with 887 being approved in more than seconds and 191 being processed from June to August.
It can be said that investment migration has been ignored until now. The New South Wales state official also said at the briefing meeting that one of the reasons why no state has received the investment migration quota this year is that the Migration Bureau has to clear the backlog first.
The Migration Minister said heMore resources have been deployed to process investment migration visas, which is divided into 188 categories that use quotas and 888 categories that are not subject to quota restrictions. The quota for Category 188 this year is 1,900, so it is difficult to clear them all within the time limit. Category 888, like 191 and 887, has no quota limit. So the minister said he hopes to see most of the 888 backlog cleared by the end of this year.
So it’s only been 2-3 months, I hope everyone who is waiting will receive the good news as soon as possible!
