UNSW College – Important Notice on English Requirements

From 1 September, UNSW College will no longer accept any new applications submitted with IELTS Indicator, TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition, PTE Academic
online, or Duolingo
1 September – applications submitted before this date using the above English results will still be recognised.

Any existing application submitted using the above English results, including those with a full offer, will be required to provide new, recognised English results (such as standard IELTS, PTE, etc.) if it is deferred or changes course direction

VEPT internal English testing will continue to be offered.

The Visualisation Lab is Monash’s most advanced laboratory, designed to help students and researchers in civil engineering visualise and analyse data, as well as to explore three-dimensional design solutions, making simulations more tangible, while also developing models and algorithms for engineering applications across construction, transport, geomechanics, water, structures and various resources.

Nursing – AMA College
A diploma course of just 1.5 years, leading directly to Enrolled Nurse occupational accreditation

2-year package course (approx. AUD 37,000)

CHC3305 Certificate 3 in Individual Support (26 weeks)

HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing (78 weeks)

A college under the Australian Medical Association (AMA), with established partnerships with local WA aged-care homes and hospitals offering placement opportunities

After completing the Diploma, with IELTS 7 in all four bands or an equivalent acceptable English result, you can apply for an Enrolled Nurse skills assessment

Entry requirements:

Aged 18 or over

Highest qualification of at least Australian Year 11 (equivalent to Year 2 of senior high school in China)

IELTS 5.5 with no band below 5, or equivalent

The college aims to train head chefs and runs its own restaurant; practical placements and assessments take place in a commercial kitchen, and entry requirements can be met through an accredited English course

Entry requirements:

Completion of Australian Year 10 (equivalent to Year 1 of senior high school in China)

IELTS overall 5; PTE accepted

University of Melbourne Faculty of Arts – Notice of 2024 Application Changes

The University of Melbourne Faculty of Arts2024 application notice is as follows:
Priority for places in popular courses
The University of Melbourne will make its selection based on applicants’ preferred cut-off scores; students who fall below the preferred cut-off but above the minimum admission requirement will be placed on a waiting list and can only be admitted when a place becomes available
Students should choose their preference order carefully. The university assesses preferences in order – the second preference is only considered if the first is unsuccessful – and changing the preference order will affect subsequent assessment timing
The university has set strict application deadlines
Students should note the validity period of their offer letter – an offer not accepted by the expiry date will lapse

For the following programmes, the university will continue to accept applications on a rolling basis, with offers made only to applicants who meet the preferred cut-off score:
Master of marketing communications
Master of global media communication
Master of arts and cultural management
Master of international journalism
Executive master of arts
Master of public policy and management
Master of international relations
Master of cultural materials conservation

Please note:
Courses with limited places cannot defer offers or provide bridging courses
Where both 2-year and 1.5-year course options are available, applicants must specify their choice at the time of application; changes to course length will only be processed if time permits and places remain

Assessment cycle for the 2024 intake:
The deadline for the main assessment cycle is 31 August 2023
Offer lapse date: 31 October 2023

UTS Orientation Week – A Preview of the Highlights


UTS’s Spring semester O Week runs from 31 July to 4 August, lasting one week, with the new semester beginning on 7 August. Orientation Week will feature a series of activities to help students new to UTS learn about enrolment, course selection, campus tours, support services, academic and career development, club activities and much more practical information about UTS. The activities are as follows:

a. Get to know the campus – take students on a tour of the teaching buildings and various facilities

b. Library tour – introduce students to the library and answer questions such as how to book rooms for group discussions

c. Ready, SET, AskUTS – the UTS Student Centre and IT Support explain practical information and answer students’ questions

d. O’Day – on the day, the campus offers free snacks and music, fun competitions and games, plus UTS giveaways.
