Visa Grants

Subclass 190 ↓↓↓
A Subclass 190 through the MINT programme: nominated occupation 234312 Environmental Consultant. The MINT programme began in mid-October 2021, the formal invitation came in February 2022, the Subclass 190 visa was lodged in March 2022, and the grant came through in March 2023 — congratulations to our client!

Subclass 491 grants ↓↓↓
Subclass 491 wasn’t to be outdone this week either, with a whole batch of grants — overall processing has advanced to the first half of mid-2022, catching up to the pace of Subclass 190!

This week we also received the latest official figures on Subclass 491-to-191 conversions


As at the end of January 2023, there had been more than 50 lodgements, but no grants as yet. The grants over this period have all been under the HK Stream.

Priority occupations still dominate; there’s no timeframe for other occupations, with only the rare grant for engineering and accounting applications lodged at the end of 2022

State Nominations Approved / Invited

NSW Subclass 491 formal nomination ↓↓↓
NSW Subclass 190 formal nomination ↓↓↓
Marketing Specialist, an entirely offshore applicant with 5+ years of relevant work experience — pre-invitation received mid-February, lodged late February, nomination obtained early March!

A Financial Investment Adviser on 70+5 points who received a pre-invitation on 15 February also secured nomination in early March! NSW has been genuinely strong for finance and marketing occupations this financial year!

There are still plenty of state-nomination opportunities across the states this financial year
We welcome both onshore and offshore applicants to have their occupation assessed!

VIC Subclass 190 nomination approved ↓↓↓
Nominated occupation Electronics Engineer — Victorian nomination processing has picked up again over the past week or two!

Victoria approved another engineering nomination — Engineering Professionals

Also received nomination this week — an ET occupation secured its nomination

And of course accounting featured too, with the nomination smoothly approved!

QLD Subclass 190 nominations approved ↓↓↓
One was a Mechanical Engineer on 75+5 
One was a Developer Programmer on 85+5
Both had applied for priority processing earlier and received formal approval in about a month


WA nomination approved ↓↓↓
A Chemical Engineer lodged mid-December 2022 (who received a pre-invitation via the graduate stream) finally secured nomination in early March

TAS nominations approved ↓↓↓
Plenty of occupations featured — Tasmania has been quietly stepping up over this period, issuing many invitations across both Subclass 491 and Subclass 190!

Northern Territory – MINT Stream↓↓↓
Formal nomination obtained — a Contract Administrator. The skills assessment was completed last September, MINT programme pre-approval came through in November, the investment payment was completed in December, and formal sponsorship was secured in early March this year!
