Victoria’s Latest ROI Round: Multiple Accountants Invited, Lowest Base Score 85! Auditing, Construction and Offshore Finance All Make It Through — Priority Stream Opens and 491 Barriers Slashed!

Victoria!
Yes — Victoria, quiet for a while,
is back!
On the night of 20 March, the Victorian Government website announced, overnight, the opening ofa fast track for health, education and social-services occupations, and thenon the morning of 21 March it began issuing ROI invitations to eligible applicants!

And it didn’t stop there —on the morning of 21 March, Victoria released its latest round of ROI invitations — and not just for the priority occupations above!

On top of that, on the afternoon of 21 March,Victoria announced that Subclass 491 can now also be applied for from non-regional areas within the state, with the work requirement removed!

Let’s go through the good news one piece at a time!

Victoria opens a fast track
A nomination at just 65 points

Eligiblehealth, teaching and social-services occupations — as long as theymeet the minimum submission requirements, the State Government will issuea pre-invitation ROI within two weeks, and once the full documentation is lodged, approve the nomination within five business days!

The eligible health, teaching and social-services occupations are shown below

Minimum submission requirements:

– An EOI of 65 points (base score 60 for 190, 50 for 491)

– English: 6 in each band

– A valid skills assessment

– Under 45 years of age

– A commitment to live in Victoria

*Onshore applicants for the Victorian 190 must be living in Victoria — there is no minimum length-of-residence requirement, and offshore applicants are also eligible

All of the above are simply the Department of Home Affairs’ minimum requirements for points-based skilled migration — Victoria has set no additional barriers. The fast track applies to new applicants as well as to those who have already lodged — no separate application is needed!

If you are in one of the occupations above and have already lodged an ROI but not yet been invited, you will receive a pre-invitation ROI within two weeks.

This morning,
a good number of our clients have already received pre-invitations straight away!

21 March: Victoria issues pre-invitations

Auditing, accounting, finance and more

all make it through!

Today’s ROI invitations weren’t limited to the fast-track occupations — Victoria also released its March round at the same time. Below is the invitation data we had collated by this afternoon. If you’ve received more invitations, we’d love you to share them with us!

Some features of this round —

– Multipleaccounting/auditing applicants invited, with the lowest score around 90 points —slightly friendlier than NSW

– Victoria continues to giveoffshore applicants a chance; this round includedan 85-point Financial Investment Manager and a 75+5-point Management Consultant,as well assome IT occupations shared from elsewhere. Overall, though, Victoria issues slightly fewer offshore invitations than NSW, and across a narrower range of occupations.

IT and engineering/construction also received invitations —around 85 points is enough for engineering/construction, butmost of the IT applicants invited had strong work experience or high salaries

Of course, the biggest winners were still the Priority occupations — too many invitations to count.

Victorian Subclass 491

no longer requires work in regional Victoria

open to applicants across all of Victoria

As at the end of February,Victoria still had 1,892 places left for Subclass 491 — a take-up rate below 50% — so the State Government is keeping the momentum going byannouncing that Subclass 491 is open to all applicants within the state, and removing the requirement to have worked in regional Victoria!

So from 21 March, applying for the Victorian Subclass 491 only requires:

– An EOI of at least 65 points (base score of at least 50)

– A skills assessment in any eligible migration occupation

– Residence in Victoria or overseas

– English: 6 in each band

– Aged under 45
