Today Is the Final Day! NT MINT Investment Amount Is About to Rise – Lock In Your Place Now Under the Old Policy!

Since it launched, the MINT programme has run through four fund rounds, and in recent years it has become a sought-after favourite among skilled migration applicants looking to secure Subclass 190 in one step.

In June 2022, just before Fund Round 4opened, MINT revised its occupation list so that every occupation could apply, drawing in even more applicants almost overnight.

Now, on 17 May 2023, MINT has made another major change!And that is:Fund Round 5takes effect from 18 May:the investment amount rises from AUD 515,000 to AUD 520,000!

Any new MINT placement agreement received from 17 May 2023 onwardswill be subject to the new MINT rules,with the following key changes from the previous policy:

1. The minimum investment amount increases to AUD 520,000 (previously AUD 515,000)

2.the venture investment term is 12 years (previously 10 years) – the trustee still intends to return 80% (plus interest, less fees) to investors within 5 years after the open period closes;

3. In addition to making venture investments directly, the fund may also use 20% of its venture investment allocation to invest in a venture capital limited partnership managed by the Paspalis fund manager.

Submitted on or before 17 May – old policy

Submitted on or after 18 May – new policy

For MINT applications whose placement agreement is received today (17 May 2023) or earlier, these applicants will still belong to the previous MINT fund round and remain under the old policy.

In other words, as long as you intend to apply for the MINT programme, regardless of whether you currently have a skills assessment or English results, securing your place today lets you catch the tail end of Fund Round 4, enter the investment cycle sooner, and receive your investment returns earlier!

After the policy was announced, our Panel Agent Simon WU from Newstarsec Brisbane/Beijing confirmed with the MINT fund regarding the new policy:placement agreements submitted today, 17 May, still fall under the old policy.
