As we all know, completing a postgraduate qualification in China generally takes at least 2 or 3 years. Australia is different — to meet the needs of different groups of people and let everyone choose the opportunity to upskill that best suits their situation,Australian universitieshave set up postgraduate programmes with a range of different durations for students:1 year, 1.5 years, and 2 years.

Most students assume Australia only offers 1.5-year or 2-year postgraduate programmes, and aren’t very familiar with 1-year postgraduate courses. Today, we’ll introduce them to you.

Just 1 year

Australia’s 1-year postgraduate programmes are especially

01

low-cost and excellent value for money

Compared with Australia’s traditional 2-year or 1.5-year master’s degrees, a 1-year master’s takes less time, cutting living costs in half, and during the pandemic, studying online from China means no expensive living costs at all, while tuition fees are relatively lower,so the overall cost is low for a master’s degree from a top global university.

02

Short programmes, compact and practical course design

1-year postgraduate programmes are usuallymore specialised, higher-level courses, more targeted and better able to address students’ needs directly — they don’t repeat foundational content you’ve already mastered, helping you quickly and effectively pick up the practical skills the industry needs.

03

High value, degrees from world-renowned universities

The Australian universities offering 1-year postgraduate programmes are almost all ranked in the world’s top 500, so graduates receive a high-value qualification that can pass Chinese academic qualification recognition and is well regarded back home.
