From 1 July, the 485 visa gets harder for some applicants No. 2
The Department of Home Affairs has announced that, from 2023–6–30 onwards, it will [reinstate the requirement that 485 Graduate Work Stream applicants provide a provisional skills assessment when lodging]
For graduates of vocational colleges (VET), this meansthat
both of the following conditions are essential when applying for the 485 GW Graduate Work visa — you cannot leave out either one!!
1) Your major must be on the Australian skilled occupation list
2) After graduating you must apply for a provisional skills assessment
If you are a VET-stream graduate, please contact us as soon as possible by 6–30 and submit your 485 Graduate Work visa beforehand!

Times Higher Education (THE) has released its 2023 World University Impact Rankings, and Australian universities performed brilliantly — 9 of the global top 50 are Australian.

A Proud Moment for Monash Students! No. 4
Monash Vice-Chancellor Margaret
Gardner has been appointed the next Governor of Victoria.Victorian Premier Andrews announced on Monday that Monash Vice-Chancellor Professor Margaret Gardner will take up the role of Governor of Victoria from early August! Professor Margaret Gardner isMonash University’sfirst female vice-chancellor. She previously held the same role at RMIT University and other senior positions atthe University of Queenslandand Griffith University. Andrews said: “Margaret is an outstanding Victorian who, over a long and distinguished career, has made such a remarkable contribution to higher education, scholarship and the dissemination of knowledge, as well as to advancing the status of women.

UWA to Open Applications for Next Year’s Medical Pathway Course No. 5
UWA has launched a brand new—Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Specialised), with applications for the 2024 medical pathway opening in July 2023,adding a new option to your university studies! This bachelor’s degree articulates into industry-accredited master’s or doctoral courses in medicine, dentistry and podiatric medicine. Graduates are eligible to progress to a range of industry-accredited postgraduate courses,including the Master of Pharmacy, Master of Public Health, Master of Clinical Pathology, Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Dental Medicine and Doctor of Podiatric Medicine.

UTS Holds a Farewell Ceremony for Students Soon to Leave Australia No. 7
On Wednesday 28 June, the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) will hold an International Students’ Farewell Ceremony,an event UTS holds especially for international students who are leaving Australia before the formal graduation ceremony and so cannot attend it.
The International Students’ Farewell Ceremony includes all the formal elements: students wear academic regalia and have their photo taken with university leaders. For students, it’s a great chance to celebrate completing their studies with family and friends.

Time: 2 pm (Sydney time)
Venue: Great Hall, Level 5, UTS Building 1
Who can attend:
· International students completing their studies at the end of this semester
· International students’ friends and family
