2024 THE Subject Rankings Released: Melbourne Education Global No. 14, Law No. 8; Monash Leads Australia in IT and Engineering


2024 Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subjectwere released yesterday. Australian universities remain strong, with many entering the global top 50 and even top 20. Let’s take a look!

Business and Economics
including Business and Management, Accounting and Finance, Economics and Econometrics and related fields
Six Australian universities entered the global top 100.

Computer Science
This year, seven Australian universities are in the global top 100, with Australia’s top three beingMonash University, the University of Melbourne and the University of Sydney, followed byUTS and ANUANU and the University of Adelaideare also in the top 100.

Engineering
The universities entering the top 100 this year areMonash, UQ, UNSW, the University of Sydney and the University of Melbourne.

Education
covering education, teacher training, education studies and related disciplines
Australian universities rank strongly overall worldwide.Nine universities entered the top 100,with Australia’s No. 1the University of Melbourne ranked 14th globally; Monash is 16th, the University of Sydney 21st and UQ 37th.Many universities made major progress.

Law
Law is another strength for Australian universities,with six universities entering the top 100.Australia’s No. 1, the University of Melbourne, ranks 8th globally; ANU ranks 21st and UNSW 32nd.

Arts and Humanities
This broad category includes art, performing arts, design, languages, literature, linguistics, history, philosophy, theology, architecture and archaeology.
This year, four Australian universities made the global top 100.They arethe University of Melbourne, the University of Sydney, ANU and Monash.In addition,RMIT is ranked 151-175, UNSW 101-125 and UTS 201-250.
