Overseas applicants who want PR with no English test, no points and no age limit — in one step — still have a chance! Five pieces of good news for the GTI Global Talent programme in a single week!

Many people look at the Global Talent (GTI) visa and feel it has lost its former glory — but that is not the case. Tiffany believes this visa is becoming one of the more stable, standardised options. With the visa now having confirmed a stable allocation of 5,000 places, and judging by the steady stream of good news emerging over the past fortnight, the number of applicants invited or granted this year should comfortably meet the Department’s target.

Recently, GTI processing has shown clear signs of speeding up. While the Department has explained that the priority-processing channel has been removed, the applicants it favours can still secure an invitation in 3–4 months!

Updates and adjustments to the GTI

NEWS

1. For EOI processing, the Department has officially processed applications lodged up to January 2023;

2. From 1 July 2023, in line with the Fair Work high-income earner annual salary threshold, the salary requirement has risen to A$167,500;
3. once an EOI invitation is issued it no longer has an expiry date, so the visa can be lodged at any time;

The Department has also stated that it will not respond to the following enquiries, notably status checks, requests to expedite, or confirmations of whether documents have been received.

The Department has also clarified its definition of income: income can include salary as well as the agreed value of non-monetary benefits — in short, the reasonable non-cash remuneration arranged between employer and employee.

FinTech and Financial Services

case 1

Lodged: 2022, November

Invited: 10 July 2023
The applicant holds a master’s degree from China and works in an emerging industry — insurance and financial technology — as a senior executive at a high-tech enterprise with numerous patents, and has personally led many reform projects in insurance and finance.
On someone’s recommendation they had already completed a skills assessment and intended to pursue skilled migration, but their points score was too low — leaving only the Subclass 491 as an option. After speaking with us, they were thoroughly convinced by the GTI visa, and under our guidance prepared and lodged their application smoothly. After about eight months they finally received their GTI invitation letter!

case 2

Lodged: March 2023

Invited: 26 July 2023
The applicant holds a master’s degree from China, meets the salary threshold and is a senior executive at a pharmaceutical company, with many years’ experience in the sector and involvement in several core projects.Because of their age and field, there was genuinely no better migration pathway to Australia. After contacting us they were certain about working with our case-writing team to complete this demanding task. Once we had prepared and lodged the application, we expected a year’s processing time — yet the invitation came through in just four months! Thanks to the applicant’s cooperation and our outstanding case-writing team!

case 3

Lodged: December 2022

Invited: 28 July 2023
The applicant holds a master’s degree from China and is in management at a well-known cloud-storage and big-data company!They had already obtained a Singapore talent green card, but for a better life for the whole family they decided to pursue Australian PR as well. Referred by a friend, they made up their mind to proceed straight after our initial phone consultation. Although they were in management within the tech sector, the technical achievements were not directly recorded under their own name, so Mr S was very concerned at first. Under our guidance we provided additional supporting evidence showing that the company’s achievements were delivered under Mr S’s leadership, and we set out the applicant’s achievements on the international stage!

case 4

Lodged: 10 April 2022
Invited: 26 July 2023
The applicant is a senior executive at a tech company who has led their team through one core project after another, and it was precisely because the Global Talent (GTI) visa has no rigid eligibility criteria that our strong case-writing team was able to fully draw out the client’s background and successfully secure their GTI visa!

case 5

Lodged: 2022

Invited: 8 August 2023
The applicant holds a bachelor’s degree and has more than 16 years’ experience at a well-known major Chinese enterprise, during which they took part in several core projects and earned numerous certificates and awards!They had little interest in the traditional Australian migration routes — which require either sitting an English test or investing over many years to obtain PR — and did not want such a roundabout path. After learning about the Global Talent (GTI) visa, and despite a modest qualification level, on our advice they decided to try this cost-effective, one-step PR visa. The result was satisfying: they were successfully invited on 8 August 2023!

case 6

Lodged: January 2023
Invited: 1 August 2023
After completing a PhD in Australia, the applicant returned to China to advance their career and joined a well-known major Chinese IT company as an algorithm scientist. They came to us in 2022. The applicant understood that for skilled migration in the IT and computing field the points score would need to reach 85 or above; even with the PhD points, achieving a high English score would still take considerable time, and a busy work schedule left no room to prepare for an English test. They therefore resolutely chose the Global Talent (GTI) visa — a talent-stream visa that requires no English test, no skills assessment and no employer sponsorship — and with our help were successfully invited within six months, allowing the whole family to lodge their visa application!

case 8

Lodged: February 2023
Granted: 26 July 2023
Student Z received their invitation letter early in the year and lodged the visa straight away; after roughly six months of processing it was finally granted. Young and accomplished not long after graduating, they pursued both the GTI visa and the Subclass 190 at the same time — and the Global Talent (GTI) visa came through faster. Congratulations once again on making it across the line.
