Many people already in Australia find that their qualifications and work history aren’t enough to obtain a skills assessment, so they need to complete another Australian qualification with strong migration prospects. Compared with the costly, lengthy undergraduate and postgraduate route, many would rather choose a shorter, lower-cost Vocational Education and Training Sector (VET) provider — so where you study and which course you choose is the key.
For stable policy settings, generous quotas and less competition, we recommend Western Australia (WA):
WA has a dedicated graduate-only stream. Simply complete two years of locally accredited study (both English language courses and VET courses count) to meet the stream’s requirements — with no need to compete against local residents or interstate applicants. What’s more, the graduate stream currently has no work or job-offer requirement for Subclass 190 and Subclass 491 applications。
Below we recommend several WA-accredited VET schools and popular package courses. Once you complete these courses and meet the relevant conditions, you can obtain the corresponding skills assessment and apply through WA’s graduate-only stream!
1
Nursing — AMA College
Enrolled nurse
Nursing has long been a popular migration occupation invited at low points. When people think of nursing, the first role that comes to mind is the Registered Nurse, which requires at least a three-year bachelor’s degree. But there is in fact another nursing occupation that requires only a 1.5-year Diploma — the Enrolled Nurse.
