More Reform News: Working Holiday visas May Be Renewed Without Any Work Requirement

At last month’s meeting, Labor unanimously supported a review and change of the 88-day working holiday visa renewal rules, confirming that the conditions of the visa “will be reviewed in the context of severe workplace exploitation and the remote labor market”.

But in the face of such divided opinion, a Labor government may choose to allow visa holders to renew their second or third visas without any work requirements.
The editor believes that the issue of working holiday visa is indeed more difficult than the issue of job evaluation and employer sponsorship.The attitudes insisted on by both sides are also based on reality.Australian agriculture relies heavily on backpackers.
