Recently, Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, a professional institution for higher education evaluation, officially released the 2023 Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. The 2023 ranking covers 55 disciplines, involving five major fields: science, engineering, life sciences, medicine and social sciences.


ShanghaiRanking’s world-class subject rankings all use internationally comparable objective academic indicators, including subject international authoritative awards, subject top papers, subject paper quality, subject international cooperation, etc.


Indicator definitions and statistical methods include:

Number of important journal articles (Q1)

Paper Standardization Impact (CNCI)

Proportion of international collaborative papers (IC)

Number of articles in top journals (TOP)

Number of authoritative awards teachers received (AWARD)


Here are some of the top universities in Australia for common subjects:

When students are unable to attend classes (Seminar) or participate in tutoring classes (Tutorials), School teaching staff will provide online tutoring and support. 4. Nanosatellite mission led by the University of Melbourne


Supported by the Australian Space Agency,SpIRIT (Space Industry Responsive) nanosatellite led by the University of Melbourne
Intelligent Thermal) has passed its performance verification test and officially entered the countdown to launch.


The nanosatellite, named SpIRIT, was manufactured in Australia and has now left Australia.Go to Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and plan to ride the Space X Falcon-9 rocket into a target orbit 550 kilometers above the earth this year.


SpIRIT is only 30 centimeters long when launched, but after reaching the target orbit, it can be deployed into a nearly 1-meter-long solar panel and radiator. As a micro-satellite weighing only 11.5 kilograms, it also carries many micro-components such as cameras (including selfie sticks), navigation systems, electric thrusters, and computers.


After SpIRIT launches in California,The the University of Melbourne and its team will spend about 4 months testing and launching the satellite under extreme conditions, and then enter formal operation and return to Earth in about 2 years.


The successful completion of this project will achieve innovation in Australian manufacturing technology and pave the way for longer-term international scientific cooperation and space exploration.


5. The list of winners of the Victoria International Education Awards is released


The list of winners of the 2023 VIEA International Education Awards is released.

RMIT Awarded by Study Abroad MelbourneGovernor’s Award for International Educational Institution of the Year(Premier’s Award for International Education Provider of the Year), and also wonOutstanding International Student Experience Award, Outstanding International Student Employability and Career Development Award.


The shortlist was announced in September this year, with the winners decided by an independent jury of industry and government representatives. Other finalists in the educational institution category include Deakin University, Swinburne University, Melbourne Institute of Technology and others.

RMIT was recognized for its excellence in student experience, employability and career development.


According to the results of the International Student Experience Benchmark Survey released earlier,RMIT’s satisfaction scores improved across all key indicators.


6. UQ’s fourth campus opens

The UQ’s fourth campus, Dutton Park, has been completed.


Last week, UQ Vice-Chancellor Professor Deborah Terry delivered a speech at the Life Sciences Queensland conference, officially announcing the news.UQ Dutton Park will strengthen UQ’s position in Brisbane’s rapidly growing biotech precinct south of Brisbane.


The campus has been home to the UQ School of Pharmacy for over a decade and is ideally located adjacent to the PA Hospital and the Australian Translational Research Institute, within the Queensland Government’s Boggo Road Cross-River Rail Priority Development Area.

The name of the Dutton Park campus will officially take effect on January 1, 2024, becoming the fourth campus of the UQ after St Lucia, Herston and Gatton campuses.
