The webinar will mainly cover two programmes,Graduate Entry Pharmacy and the Master of Pharmaceutical Science.

The Graduate Entry Pharmacy programme can help you become a pharmacist within three years. It begins with a summer school and includes field placements and paid internships.

For the Master of Pharmaceutical Science, the session helps students who have applied understand what they will be studying, including how to bring professional experience into their coursework and how to prepare for a career in pharmaceutical science or a related industry.The video session will tell you everything you need to know about the master’s programmes at the world’s second-ranked school of Pharmacy and Pharmacology!

Skills assessment reform on the way? Here’s what the Home Affairs Minister has to say

Australia’s Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Immigration have announced upcoming reforms to the skills assessment system, aimed at addressing how complex, costly and time-consuming it currently is.The draft reforms aim to lift skills assessment standards, reduce fees, eliminate discrimination, simplify processes, provide employment support and improve the transparency of assessing authorities.This will make it easier for future migration applicants to understand and integrate into the Australian labour market. The new measures also aim to reduce the backlog of applications and improve application quality, driving better migration outcomes. This skills assessment reform is expected to bring more opportunities and benefits for Australia’s international students and new migrants.

A draft document setting out best-practice principles and standards for skilled migration assessing authorities was prepared on 12 September.

The proposed draft reforms to the skills assessment system are built around seven dimensions,

namely:1. Migrant-centred 2. A reasonable fee structure 3. Evidence-based assessment standards 4. A fair and impartial assessment system 5. Timely and efficient assessment outcomes 6. Meaningful employment 7. Open and transparent operations

The University of Tasmania has opened applications for more than 200 fully funded PhD projects,These projects offer not only full tuition-fee scholarships but also an annual living allowance of AUD 31,500 and a relocation allowance.The PhD projects span a range of fields, including accounting, marketing, economics and finance, and management.The application deadline is 25 September 2023.Interested students can visit the University of Tasmania’s PhD projects page to find a topic that suits their field, provided they meet the English language requirements.

3. Submit your application before the project deadline of 25 September 2023. Be sure to copy the project title into the application form correctly, as an incorrect title may lead to your application being refused. When applying, students must submit a Cover
Letter as well as a CV that includes two referees and a research proposal for the project

UTAS updates its IT bachelor’s and master’s programmes

IT undergraduate and postgraduate programme update – the University of Tasmania has refreshed the specialisations within its IT bachelor’s and postgraduate programmes,the new specialisations are better aligned with labour-market demand, with longer in-programme placements to help international students build stronger career prospects.

Bachelor of Information
and Communication Technology [P3T] 

The core curriculum is unchanged but has been reorganised into four major specialisations in line with labour-market demand. Students can take any discipline as a second major, giving them more flexibility, and the duration of practical project units has been extended,with several new, employment-focused units added (including big data, artificial intelligence, game design, virtual reality and cyber security). On completing the core curriculum, students earn multiple certifications, including Cisco and PMBOK.

Master of Information
Technology and Systems [K7I] 

Designed to boost graduate employability, this programme strengthens the core curriculum and adds more in-demand units and practical components. By graduation, international students earn multiple industry certifications (including Cisco and PMBOK) and have the chance to accumulate substantial work experience.

AECC student survey: Australia becomes one of the top study destinations!

Leading study-abroad research body AECC has released a student survey – its largest to date,compiling 14,168 responses from 147 countries and regions worldwide, focusing its analysis on the following four areas,

1. Students’ perceptions of safety in their preferred study destinations

2. Future international students who changed their preferred study destination over the past 12 months 3. Analysis of shifts in future international students’ choice of study category

4. Preferences for online and TNE (transnational education) study

Compared with October 2021,Australia’s appeal grew sharply, rising from -15% to +30.8%,putting it well out in front. By comparison, the UK rose just 11.3%, while the US fell 2.6% to last place. Taken together with the 2024 QS World Rankings, Australia ranks among the best for both academic performance and student satisfaction, making it one of the most talked-about top study destinations.
