NSW Subclass 190 invitations are typically issued in the latter part of each month for this financial year, however we have not yet received any invitation information for November.
Latest NSW Subclass 190 Visa Updates
With no shortage of quality applicants, NSW invitation scores have now essentially caught up with those for the Subclass 189. The top eight in-demand occupations generally require a base score of 85+ points to receive an invitation, while non-in-demand occupations require 80+ points. The NSW Government is notoriously unpredictable, preferring applicants with work experience and an IELTS score of 8 in all four bands, but invitations are not issued on a consistent pattern — meeting the requirements does not guarantee an invitation. Invitations for the first four months of this financial year have been issued in the latter part of each month, with no fixed date, and the state government has made clear it will not provide advance notice of invitation rounds.

Latest NSW Subclass 491 Visa Updates
The Northern Inland regional authority — one of NSW’s designated regional areas — revealed last week that the NSW Government is still developing the rules and processing procedures for the Subclass 491 visa. There is currently no way to rush the process, and formal invitations are not expected until January 2020. They are also waiting and cannot provide an exact date. This is understood to reflect the situation across other NSW regional areas, all of which are waiting for unified guidance and instructions from the state government.
Important Notice
The new points test is now officially in effect! Applicants who have a spouse or partner without a skills assessment must urgently update their EOI manually. Particular attention is drawn to applicants who, under the new policy, meet any of the following criteria:
– Studied and lived in a regional area for 2 years (excluding Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane)
– Spouse/partner holds a language test result equivalent to IELTS 6 in all four bands.
