Newstarsec Attends the Shanghai Sister-State Dinner with the Queensland Premier; Federal and State Governments to Discuss Multi-Year State Nomination Allocations

The recent visit by the Australian Prime Minister to China demonstrated the friendly relations between China and Australia. In fact, as early as the end of July this year,Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk also met with Shanghai Deputy Mayor Mr Hua Yuan and a delegation from the Shanghai Municipal Government to renew the sister state agreement between Queensland and Shanghai. Shanghai and Queensland have been sister states (cities) since 1989. This year they will renew their relationship and re-sign a cooperation agreement, which also adheres to the concept of the Prime Minister’s visit to China – mutual benefit.

The Queensland Premier stated that “Queensland has renewed its important sister state agreement with Shanghai, cementing our strong and enduring links with China.Sister Nations Agreements are key to promoting trade, commerce and cultural exchange between the regions and I am proud to continue this partnership which has spanned over 34 years. We will continue to work together to build on the achievements of our partnership in trade, commerce, education, agriculture, tourism and research. “
