Northern Territory MINT programme

What is it?

The Northern Territory MINT project is jointly initiated by the Darwin Innovation Hub and Paspalis Asset Management, with special support from the Northern Territory Government.small-scale investment migration programme. Although it looks like an investment on the surface, in fact MINT Northern Territoryfalls under skilled migration, the applicant finally received 190 visa or 491 visa.

In July 2022, MINT in the Northern Territory promulgated a new policy.Added channels for onshore 485 visa holders and applicants who have held study permits in the past five years to apply for the MINT project.It immediately attracted the attention of international students studying at home and abroad. The MINT Domestic Graduate Pathway Project is like a timely rain, giving international students who are hesitant on the migration pathway a new migration pathway.

Therefore, in July 2022, MINT had just announced the policy for domestic graduates. In August 2022, Simon WU, as a Panel Agent, had already taken two groups of onshore clients to the Northern Territory for entrepreneurship interviews, and received the domestic entrepreneurship application GSUP-01 numbered 01.

Timeline:

On September 6, 2022, the applicant moved from Queensland to the Northern Territory to live and start a business.

On September 6, 2023, one year after starting the business, we submitted one year of business progress and other documents to the Northern Territory for the applicant.

On October 10, 2023, the applicant officially received a pre-invitation from the state government, which means that the applicant’s one-year entrepreneurial achievements were recognized by the Northern Territory state government.

On October 10, 2023, the applicant completed the MINT investment.

On October 30, 2023, anti-money laundering passed.

On November 8, 2023, the Northern Territory was officially invited.

Which applicants

can apply?

Graduates who have been in China in recent years:Applicants who are about to graduate, or have already graduated in Australia = applicants who are about to, or already hold 485 visas(If you already hold a 485 visa, its validity period shall not be less than 13 months)

Those who have graduated from studying in Australia but have been abroad in recent years:I once studied in Australia, but I have returned to China before.The person has been outside Australia within 2 years before application,You can enter the country with a 600 tourist visa.

What are the requirements for MINT Entrepreneurship Applicants?

–Must meet the basic requirements for skilled migrants:An EOI personal score of 50 can lead to 491; a score of 60 can lead to 190; there is a skills assessment

–Investment funds must be able to explain the legal source:It can be a gift from parents, but the source of parents’ funds must also be explained.;

–The nominated occupation is in any of the MLTSSL/STSOL/ROL lists of the Department of Home Affairs (occupations in the ROL list can only apply for 491)

–Through the MINT Fund 3-person expert panelinterview

Before the interview, you need to prepare a business plan and road show PPT, and accept an interview with the MINT 3-member expert panel and the NT state government migration officer.

At present, we still have many applicants who have passed the interview and obtained a place number to start a business in the Northern Territory. They will enter the MINT process at the end of this year or one year next year.

Will the MINT project still exist in the future?

According to the information our Panel Agent SIMON WU has learned from relevant parties, the Northern Territory will continue to operate the MINT project in the new financial year.

Now, the MINT project has successfully progressed to the fifth phase of funding.

In September this year, the first wave of people who tried their luck at MINT in 2018,That isApplicants for the first tranche of funds have already received rebates promised under the previous Northern Territory MINT fund.

Starting from the afternoon of September 4th, we have clients receiving email confirmation notifications for the return of investment funds:

The benefits that the fifth fund has brought to the Northern Territory are self-evident.Therefore, the MINT project will continue to exist in financial year 2024.Currently, due to the issue of state government quotas, clients who have not yet occupied a seat at MINT need to enter the waitlist and wait for the Northern Territory to issue a new quota to MINT.But this does not prevent applicants who want to take MINT from taking skills assessments and taking English tests. They should prepare in advance for July next year. For overseas applicants who have been ignored for a year, there will be another wave of quotas!Seize this opportunity to get 190 without having to fight for points!
