South Australia State Nomination Opens with ROI Pre-invitations: Seven Priority Industries, Streams Explained, Offshore Applicants Accepted

Major changes in South Australia’s 23-24 financial year



ROI system added(Anyone who meets the requirements can submit, but the state government decides whether to invite based on the applicant’s situation)

South Australia Graduate Channel


– Check if your nominated occupation qualifies for the South Australia Graduate Pathway on the South Australia Skilled Occupation List

-Currently living and working in South Australia
IELTS 4 and 6 or equivalent English proficiency
Unless your nominated occupation has special requirements because it requires registration or licensing to practice in South Australia, if your occupation requires registration or licensing in South Australia, you need to ensure that you meet the English language requirements for working in South Australia as set out by the registration or licensing authority.
Occupations requiring registration include trades, education and health professions. (Note: Citizens or passport holders of the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada or New Zealand do not need to provide English language test scores)
-Have completed a qualification from a South Australian education institution and meet the following study requirements:
Your course in South Australia must be registered with the Commonwealth Registry of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) and be at least46 CRICOS Week
– Your studies meet the minimum qualification level listed for your nominated occupation on the Skilled Occupations List
At least 50% of your qualifications must be completed in South Australia
You must have lived in South Australia for at least one year while studying
Have lived in South Australia for at least the past 12 months
Have been working for the past 6 months and currently hold a full-time job (at least 30 hours per week). Your job must be related to and of the same skill level as your nominated occupation.
-Currently working in a group with the same top two Anzsco codes for the nominated occupation


South Australia work access



-Check whether your nominated occupation qualifies for the South Australia Work Pathway on the South Australia Skilled Occupation List

Have lived in South Australia for at least the past 12 monthslive.
Have been working for the past 6 months and are currently employed full-time (at least 30 hours per week)
– Currently working in a group with the same top two Anzsco codes for the nominated occupation

Highly Skilled and Talented Channel


Open to in-state, out-of-state and overseas applicants

General requirements:
The language must reach at least four 6 levels
Currently employed full-time (at least 30 hours per week) but annual income does not require a clear annual salary

For applicants in Australia
1. prove thatHigh-skilled jobs, senior or executive level positionsHave rich experience in
2、prove that at least one of the conditions is metpieces
-Has started working in South Australia
-Working out of state or having an employment contract and indicating plans to relocate to South Australia
– Demonstrate the specific experience and skills required in South Australia critical priority sectors (picture below)


3. Requirements for employers
The employer needs to have been operating for at least 12 months, and the employer has been operating in South Australia for the past 12 months and has a location
-Annual turnover reaches at least 4 million AUD, start-up companies or operating in outer regional South Australia or license exemption
-No bad record


Special requirements for applicants working in high-tech or digital industries


Special requirements for applicants working in the defense industry


Offshore applicant pathway


Option 1: General pathway (ROI not required)
The applicant submits an EOI and the state governmentA 190 or 491 pre-invitation will be issued based on a comprehensive assessment based on occupation, working years and corresponding skills, English proficiency and EOI points.
If you belong to a priority nominated occupation, you have a chance to get 190.After receiving the pre-invitation, you have 14 days to submit the materials, and the state government will review and approve the nomination.

Option 2: Highly Skilled and Talented stream
If you live overseas but meet the requirements of the Highly Skilled and Talented stream, you can also try to submit an ROI application. This stream must meet the requirements.
– The language must reach at least four 6 levels
-Currently employed full-time (at least 30 hours per week)
It is best to have the special experience and skills required in South Australia critical priority sectors (shown in the picture above)
There are some factors that may prioritize invitations due to:
Meeting the guidelines posted above does not guarantee that your ROI will be invited to apply for nomination. The quota for fiscal year 23-24 is limited to ensure that applicants are given priority, and the following factors will be considered including (but not limited to):
-Hold toTemporary visas expiring before 31 August 2024
-Be 45 years old or older before August 31, 2024
Length of work experience in South Australia (the longer, the better)
-priority will be given in certain occupations, e.g.Health and Medical Sciences, Trades and Construction, Early Childhood and Teaching, Digital Technologies, Food and Agribusiness, Creative Industries, Tourism and Hospitality
