Small Business Overview

#Queensland Canberra#

Small business migration used to be Queensland’s exclusive offering — it came with countless advantages as the state government’s favourite child, so much so that even Queensland’s Subclass 190 had to make way for it.At present, the Queensland government hasn’t yet released its small business policy for the new financial year — we expect this in mid-to-late July, whenthe Queensland government will announce fresh news on small business migration. We’ll keep a close watch and bring you the latest first-hand updates.

After all this ‘theory’, you might be feeling a bit dizzy. So, let’s use an example to help you better understand how the Queensland & Canberra policies differ:

For example,

a Sydney-based accounting graduate

#Master’s Graduate#

“Mike, a Sydney-based accounting Master’s graduate, wants to migrate to Australia through small business migration.” We’ve put together an initial points comparison for him under the Queensland and Canberra streams respectively.

Each Has Its Merits — How Do You Choose?

After all these comparisons, still feeling a bit lost about which path suits you? No worries — Zoe has summed up the recommended direction for different situations, but if you’d like a more detailed analysis and consultation, remember to scan the QR code — Zoe is here to help sort out your doubts.

[Choose Queensland]

If you really can’t get four 7s in IELTS, go with Queensland

For most university-degree students, four 7s is a strict requirement set by the Canberra government. If you find the language requirement a major hurdle — costly in both time and money — Queensland’s government couldn’t care less: it only requires four 6s, the minimum requirement for skilled migration.

If your occupation isn’t on Canberra’s critical list, go with Queensland

For most applicants who haven’t studied in Canberra and whose occupation isn’t on the critical list, that’s a straight 20-point deduction, making it hard to scrape together the 65-point invitation score. In that case, consider Queensland’s small business stream, which has no occupation restrictions at all.

In summary,Queensland’s small business stream isthe highest priority category — invitations within one business day are common, and meeting the requirements is enough to get invited. This has given a huge number of accounting graduates real confidence, and our success stories are everywhere.

[Choose Canberra]

If you really don’t have AUD100,000, go with Canberra

AUD100,000 is no small figure for a recent graduate wanting to migrate — especially for those fresh out of university, who might not even be clear on what running a business really involves. Suddenly having to come up with AUD100,000 for a business would leave a lot of people at a loss. However, the Canberra government sets no minimum investment requirement, precisely to encourage them to try the business they want to try with a lower barrier to entry — which in turn brings fresh energy and business opportunities to Canberra.

If your own score isn’t very high, you have a spouse, and your spouse can’t add points to your EOI, go with Canberra

Canberra is a place that doesn’t put true love to the test — your spouse can only add points for you, never hold you back.

In summary,Canberra’s small business streammakes applying for Subclass 190 genuinely tempting — if your visa duration is long enough, you can bring your score up to 80+, making it a solid alternative migration pathway.
