Charles Sturt University | Charles Sturt University 

 

Charles Sturt University is a public Australian university located in NSW. It has campuses in Bathurst, Albury, Dubbo, Orange and Wagga Wagga, plus research centres in Canberra, Sydney, Broken Hill and other locations. It is the only public higher education institution west of the Blue Mountains in NSW, 202km from Sydney.Some campuses are located in regional areas of Australia, so graduates may be eligible for regional study bonus points and can apply for regional state nomination. In addition to the standard first Subclass 485 work visa, graduates also have the opportunity to obtain a second 485 visa.


Charles Sturt University’s graduate employment rate is also among the highest in Australia,with 85% of graduates finding full-time employment within 4 months of graduating — study, work and migration in three steps.


ICT

# Bachelor of information technology # 

Charles Sturt University’s IT programmes are accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS), with the curriculum meeting the requirements for the IT skills assessment.The course also includes a mandatory 15-day work placement, allowing students to build practical employability skills through 105 hours of placement activities,and explore job opportunities.


Fields of study:Cyber Security, Software Design, Network Engineering, Web Development

Academic requirements: Year 12 average score of 80% or above

Language requirements:IELTS overall score of 6 with no band below 5.5; PTE overall score of 50 with no component below 50

Tuition fees: $29,696/year(international students applying this year also have the opportunity to receive a 30% tuition fee scholarship, applied across 2 semesters. After the discount, tuition fees are just $20,788/year)


Migration pathway:After graduation, students can apply for migration through state nomination (Subclass 190) or regional state nomination (Subclass 491)(NSW’s 190 occupation list recently saw several ICT occupations return to the list)

Nursing

# Bachelor of Nursing # 

This course is a nationally recognised and registered higher education award in Australia. It received five-year accreditation from the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) in December 2020, and was approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.


The course includes 800 hours of clinical placement in real healthcare settings, and the university has close ties with the Western NSW and Far West Local Health Districts, giving on-campus students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience.

Academic requirements: Year 12 average score of 80% or above

English requirements: IELTS overall score of 7 with no band below 7; or equivalent English test results

NSW TAFE is affiliated with the Australian Department of Education,and is the largest higher education system in the Southern Hemisphere, offering higher education across a wide range of fields and vocational training. It receives government funding and has close ties with local businesses, providing TAFE students with educational resources and local work placements, with courses designed primarily around local employment needs,which means most of its majors lead to occupations that are both in high demand and popular,with the curriculum focused on developing students’ professional terminology and hands-on skills.In addition, TAFE has numerous campuses, so students can choose a campus that suits their needs.

 

Early Childhood Education

#Bachelor of early childhood education&care#

TAFE’s early childhood education bachelor’s degree is a 4-year course,and graduates can be exempted from the IELTS 7788 English requirement and go straight through to the skills assessment,with multiple regional NSW campuses available for students to choose from,and graduates can gain additional regional study bonus points and apply for migration through regional state nomination. The four-year course includes a total of 840 hours of work placement,helping students start adjusting to the workplace and building work experience while still studying


Academic requirements: High school completion

Language requirements: IELTS overall score of 6.5, with no band below 6, or equivalent English test results

Tuition fees: $54,720 for four years,with annual fees of just $13,680(the school also offers international students a 25% international scholarship tuition discount)
