Just as the state governments are rolling out updates with great enthusiasm, the Department of Home Affairshas also outlined its arrangements from 1 July in the new financial year.
Arrangement One: Subclass 485 visa
The Subclass 485 Replacement Stream, as well as the Subclass 485 Graduate Work Stream (GSW Stream — commonly known as the ‘old TR’) which does not require a nominated occupation on the occupation list or a related skills assessment, are expectedto be available for lodgement from 1 July.
Update from the Department of Home Affairs website

The official website currently states:the lodgement window runs from 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023 — meet the relevant requirements and lodge within this period.

| Subclass 491 visa | 4115 | 4240 |
| Subclass 189 visa | 4115 | 4240 |
| Subclass 887 visa | 425 | 435 |
| Subclass 407 visa | 315 | 325 |
|
|

| Subclass 482 visa – Medium-term stream | 2690 | 2770 |
| Subclass 186 visa | 4115 | 4240 |

| Subclass 820/801 visa | 7850 | 8085 |
| Subclass 143 (first visa application fee) | 4225 | 4355 |
Generally speaking, a visa fee increase at the start of each financial year is standard practice (the previous financial year’s increase was likely waived due to COVID).
The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) and Federal Circuit Court (FCC) fees will also rise —the AAT application fee will increase from AUD 3,000 to AUD 3,153, and the FCC fee from AUD 3,365 to AUD 3,535.
If you have already received your nomination, lodging your visa before 1 July means you can still pay this financial year’s fees — so we strongly recommend lodging your visa as soon as possible!
Parent migrationAs paper-based visa applications are still in use and postal delivery takes several days, even though the visa application fee is prepaid online,if your application arrives after 1 July, you will still need to pay the difference to cover the fee increase —so lodging early can save you some money. Also, for parent migration, if some notarised documents are not yet ready, you can still lodge first and submit them later.
If applicable, please arrange your lodgement now!
