Yesterday, senior officials from the Department of Home Affairs announced at the MIA conference that Subclass 189 invitations would continue. Full details here:MIA Annual Conference Exclusive | Skilled migration to receive ongoing support, Subclass 189 invitations to continue — delegates advocate for onshore bridging visa holders! Official indicates more resources being considered for Subclass 887!
Sure enough, waking up this morning we found over a dozen new invitations in our inbox, with more than 10 additional invitations reported by external sources!
The even bigger surprise is that the occupations invited this round have not received invitations since early 2020 —Accounting and IT. So far, the overwhelming majority of invitations we have seen are foraccounting— and for onshore applicants — with the lowest invitation score seen so far being100 points.
External reports mention an accountant receiving an invitation at 95 points — take this with caution,as it may be a case where the work experience end date was not entered, resulting in an automatic 5-point bonus upon reaching three years. Of course, we hope to see invitations issued at even lower scores.
