Read more here:Subclass 189 backlog grows by 14,000 — faster than 190? Subclass 491 finally drops, 143 rises sharply! Real grant rates for Subclass 500/600 applicants offshore from China?

Right on cue,the Department of Home Affairshas also updatedits reference processing times across all visa subclasses

A word of caution — the official figuresinclude extreme outliers and have limited practical value, and carrya degree of lag, so the numbers may differ from real-world experience.

Based on what we’re seeing for Newstars clients:
Subclass 189 processing first-half financial year invited shortage occupations + clearing older backlogs
Subclass 190 broadly progressed to March/April 2022 (some cases later)
Subclass 491 processing applications lodged in 2021
Subclass 489 gradually clearing the final batch lodged in 2019
Subclass 887 bulk still at September 2020
Subclass 143 Contributory Parent — document requests reaching late March 2017
Visitor visa for parents of PR holders/citizens (offshore) — approximately one month
Subclass 186 — multiple cases completed end-to-end within six months recently
……

Let’s now look at the 22 December update on the Department of Home Affairs website
