Victoria Kicks Off 2023 with a Flood of Skilled Migration Invitations! Accounting, IT, Engineering, Finance, Marketing and More — Onshore and Offshore All Invited!

2023 state-nominated skilled migration kicks off withVictoria’s invitation round! As the state with the largest allocation this financial year, this ROI pre-invitation round is once again generous — a large number of invitations were issued, covering most occupations, and we are seeingmore offshore applicants receiving invitations, with scores that are not particularly high.

Many social work, nursing, and healthcare-related occupations were also invited at lower scores of 65–75, with almost no work or work-experience requirements.

– This round’svolume of invitationscontinues to increase compared to previous rounds (possibly spurred by Subclass 189 and New South Wales activity)

–Accountingreceived a large share of invitations, including offshore applicants.Most required a base score of 85 or above (with very few exceptions below this threshold). It is clear that the state government is prioritising applicants with higher scores or longer work experience.

–Popular IT occupations were mostly invited at 90+, with less competitive work or experience requirements compared to accounting.

–Variousengineering occupations also received some invitations, with scores slightly lower.

–Offshore invitations have also grown noticeably this round, spanning multiple occupations — including popular ones as well as common roles such as marketing specialists — with scores sometimes lower than for onshore applicants.

– Social work, healthcare, and teaching — the highest-priority occupations — saw many applicants with no work experience still receiving invitations at much lower scores.
Victoria does not have mandatory work or work-experience requirements for the Subclass 190 visa. Onshore applicants must reside in Victoria (with no minimum duration requirement). Offshore applicants need a minimum EOI score of 65, a valid skills assessment, and IELTS 6 in each band to lodge. Victoria accepts all migration occupations recognised by the Department of Home Affairs!

Victoria has 11,500 Subclass 190 nominations (the largest allocation of any state). To date, approximately 5,000 Subclass 491 and 190 nominations have been issued in total. It is well worth submitting a Victorian application!
