Yesterday, Newstarsec Education & Migration was invited to attendBond University’s appreciation dinner~

As a first-tier agent of Bond UniversityNewstarsec representatives also held a series of discussions and exchanges with the university on “how to better support the career planning of Chinese international students”~

About Bond University

Founded in 1987, Bond University was the first government-recognised private university in Australia, located in Queensland, Australia — inthe Robina district of the Gold Coast

Bond University’s Business School has won the renowned MOOT Corp global business-school competition three times as champion, three times as runner-up, and four times with special awards, and is the only university worldwide to have taken the championship more than twice (other top global universities competing in this event include Harvard University, the University of California, the University of Oxford, the London School of Economics, and the Wharton School).

Bond University’s Business School MBA programme has been rated “five-star” by the Graduate Management Association of Australia.”
Beyond business, at this appreciation dinner Bond University also showcased two of its standout fields of study: Engineering and Law~ So what surprises did Bond University have in store this time?

School of Construction Engineering

Bond University invited Dr Amir Ghanbaripour, the head and lecturer of Bond University’s School of Construction Engineering, and an industry practitioner himself, an outstanding and highly experienced project manager. As a graduate of Bond University’s School of Construction Engineering, Dr Amir gave us a detailed introduction to the strengths of this programme: strong professional rigour, a unique placement structure, accreditation by Australian engineering-related bodies (AIQS, API, VRBQ, RICS), a high employment rate, the best employer reputation, close links to the job market, and no requirement for a related academic background to apply — all of which make Bond University’s construction engineering programme stand out among comparable programmes across Australia!

Construction Engineering programme overview

Here we’d like to introduce one of Bond University’s flagship programmes — migration-friendly with broad career prospects

-Master of Construction Practice (Professional)

-Duration: 92 weeks, three semesters per year, with intakes in January, May and September each year

-On graduation, students in this programme can become a Quantity Surveyor

A Quantity Surveyor is often also known as a “construction economist”. Their work spans the entire project lifecycle, covering budgeting, cost control, tax and insurance, and legal and regulatory matters. Quantity Surveyor is an occupation in short supply for migration in Australia. Whether you hold an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification, you can have your skills assessed by AIQS, the assessing authority for Quantity Surveyors. (the occupation is quantity surveyor)

Master of Construction Practice (Professional) — course content overview:

Year One: Covers integrated subjects across construction practice, focusing on the management and delivery of complex construction projects.

Year Two: An in-depth study of property development, management, valuation and investment, covering the full lifecycle of planning, construction, management and refurbishment, learning sustainability principles, with electives including dispute resolution, forensic engineering and property title.

Year Three: Complete an additional 20 weeks of classroom learning and practical experience, including skills units, industry guest involvement and practical assessment, building work-readiness skills, analytical and strategic thinking, and an understanding of industry workplace requirements and communication skills.

School of Law

Professor Kathy Atkins, head of Bond University’s School of Law, gave us a rigorous yet good-humoured presentation on the law programme’s course structure. Not only are classes taught by outstanding professors, but it’s especially worth noting that Bond University uses small-class teaching, with no more than 20 students per professor in each class, so no one gets overlooked — and this is also a strength of the construction engineering programme~

What’s more, Professor Kathy used student success stories to show us how law students go on to thrive after studying at Bond University. With evident pride, she recounted one student after another — from being newcomers to the School of Law to growing into upstanding solicitors, legal advisers and law-firm partners. Step by step, through continual improvement of its course structure and quality, Bond University keeps cementing its standing as a top-tier law school in Australia!

Law programmes overview:
Bond University offers a wide range of law programmes, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and the Juris Doctor degrees. Of these, the undergraduate option includes single or double degrees.
