In the final month of the financial year, these Subclass 190/491 channels are still open and still inviting! Accountants, engineers, IT — all the everyday occupations you know!

/ FY 2022–23/

FY 2022–23

in the first half, Subclass 189 staged a comeback — a single round released a flood of 35,000 invitations

states issued historically high quotas— Victoria’s Subclass 190 allocation ultimately reached as high as 12,900 places

the states waged a talent war— lowering requirements, adding occupations and issuing invitations in bulk through the financial year

at the end of the financial year it was confirmed thatemployer sponsorship would usher in an era of major good news

and for skilled migration there wasa rapid clearing of the visa backlog

As a result, FY 2023–24 saw

many people finally received an invitation

many people finally were granted

many people finally could land in Australia

Just like that, FY 2023–24 has only 1 month left

but plenty of the “good shows” are still playing out

Some of the invitations we collected this week

Which state-nomination channels will still send invitations?
Because most state governments received more quota than expected this financial year, most channels are doing everything they can to issue invitations and use up that quota, fearing it will be wasted by the year’s end. So, unlike previous years when things would “go quiet” well before the financial year closed, in the final month of this financial year, plenty of channels remain open — here’s another round-up!

Employer sponsorship: a truly great era arrives

Of course, the topic of the month has to be Subclass 482 employer sponsorship

– Around 200 occupations on the short-term list — including marketing, finance and chefs — can transition directly to a Subclass 186 PR

– The work period required to transition to PR has been reduced from 3 years to 2 years

– Processing speeds keep accelerating, and cases lodged and approved within a month have become commonplace recently

Among Newstarsec’s Subclass 482 employer-sponsorship clients:

Accountant — lodged 24 May 2023, nomination approved 29 May 2023

Statistician — lodged 25 May 2023, nomination approved 1 June 2023
Marketing Specialist — lodged 11 May 2023, nomination and visa approved together 16 May 2023
Hairdresser — lodged 1 March 2023, nomination and visa approved together 21 April 2023
Accountant — lodged 2 May 2023, visa granted 17 May 2023
Civil Engineer — lodged 26 May 2023, visa granted 29 May 2023
