Senior Managers Can Skilled-Migrate to Australia Too! The First Step on the Road to PR: Start with Your Skills Assessment

Australia’s 2022-23 financial year brought plenty of welcome surprises for offshore applicants. From every state opening to offshore applicants, to a wide range of common occupations having multiple state-nomination opportunities with relatively low entry thresholds, through to low-points invitations for the Subclass 189 visa — all of this has restored the confidence of offshore applicants who have long been following Australian skilled migration.

With the quota for the Global Talent (GTI) visa steadily shrinking, senior management professionals in China may well consider the offshore skilled migration pathway. Many applicants assume skilled migration is mostly for technical, hands-on roles — but in fact, senior management roles can also serve as a nominated occupation and can also take the skilled migration pathway, because these roles are in high demand in Australia too.

For most Australian skilled migration pathways, the first step is to obtain a skills assessment, while also preparing for your English test.

Today we’ll walk you through how senior managers can use their current role to complete a skills assessment and lodge a skilled migration application against that nominated occupation.
