Plenty of Subclass 600 grants

Most are parents of PR holders or citizens, along with parents of international students, and some are applicants who, after a Subclass 491/190 invitation, wanted to enter Australia to lodge.

Subclass 500 student visa — partner accompanying

A purely offshore applicant. Acting on some less-than-expert advice early on, the woman applied for a Subclass 500 on her own and the man applied for a Subclass 600 on his own — the former was granted, the latter refused. They only came to us afterwards. Our migration lawyer took the view that, with the relationship evidence explored in depth, the case was sound. In the end, three months after the woman had entered Australia to study, the man applied to accompany her on the grounds of their recent marriage and not wishing to be apart — and the visa was granted smoothly. With ample evidence and a well-argued case, it was lodged in early June and granted on 15 June~

If you are thinking of lodging for your parents, get your documents ready and lodge as soon as you can — you can still pay this financial year’s visa fees, as the new financial year brings a sizeable increase!(the prices below are estimated based on the announced increases; official figures prevail)

Lodged in the first half of 2022

granted

Subclass 887 cases are now concentrated among those lodged in the second half of 2022, and processing is very quick

AAT appeal won

Subclass 489 subsequent entrant

When the applicant originally lodged as a Subclass 489 subsequent entrant, the partner relationship evidence had not been fully prepared, and a strict case officer refused the application outright without giving any chance to provide further documents. After a full three years and more, the appeal was won on 15 June! Not every application gives a second chance at every step! Relationship evidence in particular is something to have fully in order from the very start — whether for a Subclass 485/500 secondary applicant, a Subclass 489/491 subsequent entrant, or of course a partner visa.
Passing the good fortune on — we hope everyone gets their invitation and grant soon!
