1. The backlog of 189 visas will be cleared quickly, and invitations are expected to be issued in the second half of the fiscal year?

This week we got the latest sharing on the processing status of 491/190/189 visas as of the end of August this year.

first two months of fiscal year

1905,524 visas were approved, and an average of 2,762 visa quotas were used every month. Overall, the process was on track. The backlog of 3,351 was cleared (because there were newly submitted applications). Since there were not many invitations at that time, there were not many new submissions. The total number of backlogs as of the end was 46,384.

491There is a backlog of 5,134 applications. This may be because there are not many new applications, or it may be because there are slightly more 491 applications than 190 applications in those months.

189In two months, 5,337 backlogs were cleared, the most among the three categories. The total backlog is 23,288. Does this mean that 189 will have the opportunity to issue invitations in the second half of the fiscal year?

In addition, we attended a briefing held by the Queensland State Government this week. The Department revealed to the state government that it plans to issue an invitation for 189 before the end of this year, possibly in November/December., mainly inviting in-demand majors such as social work, medical nursing and teachers, the score may be as low as 65 points, we will wait and see.One is that the issuance of 189 may be more intensive than the state nomination, because 189 does not have an invitation quota limit. Now the visa backlog is relatively healthy, and the score may go down, such as being invited with 65 points. And if 189 can recruit at least some people after sending invitations, they will not need to go to the state to sponsor, which can also make some space for other professions.

Therefore, it is recommended that majors in short supply such as Sanbao, including various related to social services and medical care, can submit 189 to give it a try. Especially if you score 65/70 points, you may have a chance to be lucky enough to be fished out. If you need help, you can contact the customer service below:

2. The Northern Territory opens to 491 this financial year, with limited supply.

The Northern Territory announced that it will open 491 new applications for the 23-24 fiscal year from October 23. 190 does not plan to reopen for the time being due to insufficient quotas.
Because quotas are limited, application requirements and occupations may also change.
1. Local graduate channel,Only those who hold a 485 and the 485 expires before July 1, 2024 will be considered for invitation (that is, if the 485 will not expire for a long time, they are recommended to apply again in the next fiscal year)
2, intrastate worker channel,Those who have not worked in the nominated occupation for at least 6 months in local related work will not be considered unless they are working in critical sector industries such as health, aged and disabled care, education and childcare, and hospitality.
3. The priority occupation channel for overseas applicants is reduced to 54 occupations.
Overseas unified application requirements:
-Meet EOI 65 points
– Language four 6
-With career assessment
-At least 1 year of work experience related to the nominated occupation

Divided into three channels
①Priority career path
Common occupations include
Café or Restaurant Manager
Pastrycook
Chef/Cook
Hotel or Motel Manager
Massage Therapist
Civil Engineer
Electrical Engineer
Motor Machanic
Mining Engineer (excluding Petroleum)
Social Worker
Vocational Education Teacher
②Northern Territory family channel (any migration occupation)
The main requirement is to have PR/citizen/relatives who hold 491/489/887 or 191 bridge and have settled in NT for at least 12 months. The relatives can be parents, siblings or cousins, etc., and prove that they have worked hard to find a job.
③Job offer channel (any migration occupation)
There are job offers related to the nominated occupation in the Northern Territory

The more realistic channel for most overseas applicants is the priority career channel. If you have one year of work experience and career assessment, you are welcome to contact us for the above occupations to submit an application.

3. The migration results of the last fiscal year are released, and both domestic and foreign skilled migration have reached a new high!
The migrant visa results report for fiscal year 22-23 is released. We have already known that the backlog of 189/190/491 is serious. This report also gives more data on occupation and region.
Origin:
There were 23,936 migration applicants from mainland China, an increase of more than 5,000 people.India ranks first with 41,145 people, followed by the Philippines with 13,085 people. India has increased significantly compared with the previous fiscal year, further widening the gap.
Domestic/overseas skilled migration
Among the 142,344 skilled migration visas issued,65%, or 92,694, were domestic applicants, the most in the past 10 years, and 35%, or 49,650, were from overseas, which was also a new high in five years.

The migration major with the most visas (compared to invitations, there is a certain lag)

Judging from the nominated occupations of the main applicants, nursing ranks first among all categories.

classified to189 ofFinally, the top three are the “Three Treasures”, with up to 5360 cares;491Accountants have the largest number, with 2945. From the side, it can be seen that it is too difficult to achieve PR in one step;190The largest number is nursing (2855), followed by software engineering, accounting and civil engineering. These three are also very popular migration majors, but the total of these three is equivalent to the number of nursing.186 employer sponsorshipsIs the software and applications programmer career ranked number one?

Overview of the situation in each state
-UNSW, Victoria and Western Australia, the largest category is 186 employer sponsored
-Canberra, South Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory are all most dependent on 491, with South Australia having the most “extreme” numbers
-Queensland is the only one with 189 ranking first among all channels.
-190 is not the most popular category among all states.
-30% of 491 visa applicants chose to settle in South Australia, which is higher than UNSW and Queensland.

Parental migration backlog of 140,000
As of the end of June,The backlog of parent migrants in all categories has reached 140,615, and the number of new applications submitted last fiscal year was 26,433, which is also a new high in recent years. This is because after more skilled migration visas were issued, more parents were submitted for migration.

4. Queensland quietly issued another invitation, and software engineering/civil engineering were invited.

At the end of the month, it was time again for the state government to send out invitations. Queensland issued pre-invitations for the second round of the fiscal year this week. This time the quantity is 350,The invitation data we collected is as follows, and the scores are relatively high:

Queensland as of this week

-16,500 EOI applications have been received

-The number of formal nominations issued is 200 (that is, the quota used), accounting for 13%

-There are still 120 pre-invitations that are being reviewed.

Queensland has repeatedly reiterated that it will use quotas in a balanced manner throughout the fiscal year, issue some pre-invitations at the end of each month, and try to stick to it until the end of the fiscal year.

Queensland’s state policy:

Most of the local graduates and workers who are domestic applicants have local work-related requirements. For more detailed requirements, please see:Queensland policy is released | Popular occupations in overseas channels only need 75 points to apply for 190! Graduate and worker channels reduce score/work experience/language requirements!

Overseas applicants

Application 190:

-EOI score is at least 75 points, and skilled occupations are at least 70 points

-Use Queensland’s list QSOL

-At least four language 6s (unless the occupation has higher requirements for registration or licensing)

– Meet the work experience requirements for this occupation, which is 3/4/5 years for most occupations

Application 491:

-EOI score is at least 65 points

-Use Queensland’s list QSOL

-At least four language 6s (unless the occupation has higher requirements for registration or licensing)

– Meet the work experience requirements for this occupation, which is 3/4/5 years for most occupations

The only difference between the 491 and 190 application thresholds is the EOI score

In addition, the Queensland state government revealed at the briefing that the federal governmentDiscussions will soon be held with the state government to grant state quotas for several years at once, instead of announcing them year by year. The state government can decide how to use them in these years. This allows both states and applicants to plan better and not have to wait at the beginning of each fiscal year. Still wait and see~
