1. Xinzhou 491 has determined this year’s policy. One has a low submission threshold and the other has a high success rate.

New South Wales 491 finally announced its policy for the 23-24 fiscal year this week. This year, it has a quota of 1,500, the most of any state.New South Wales will only retain 2 channels this year, all of which are under the responsibility of the state government. For the time being, RDA will not participate in the state’s 491 project.Channel 2 is suitable for most people, while Channel 1 is for those who already work and live in regional areas of New South Wales.

Pathway2 channel two:

Occupation list:Using the Department of Home Affairs’s list, this occupation can apply for a 491 visa.

Application requirements:

1. Meet the requirements of the Department of Home Affairs for 491 visa:

Have a skills assessment

Language at least four 6

EOI 65 points (get at least 50 by yourself)

2. You can apply both overseas and within the state

Correspondingly, you must have lived there for at least 3 months.

People in Sydney can also apply for NSW 491

3. Invitation rules:

– Priority is given to inviting target sectors. Those who belong to one of the following have a greater chance of being invited.

Health, education, ICT, infrastructure and agriculture

-In theory, other professions and industries have the opportunity to be invited, but the competition can be imagined

–When competing at home and abroad, multiple factors on EOI will be considered.Score/work experience/language, etc. However, the submission time will not affect the chances of being invited.

-The frequency and approximate time of invitations have not been disclosed for the time being. We will not announce the time of invitations in advance. You can send them if you want.

Those who are more familiar with New South Wales will feel that this is a copy of the New South Wales 190 policy, and the target sector and occupation list have not changed at all. The application threshold is the lowest, which means many people can enter the pool, but it will be very difficult to get invited.

Of course,If you are in the Target sector, whether you are overseas or domestic, your chances are much greater, especially since some applicants may have lower scores than 190.The application base of New South Wales determines that its invitation points will not be very low. The score that 491 needs to get will be relatively lower. It also needs 85 points to be invited. 190 has to reach 80 points by itself, and 491 only needs 70 points.

Occupation list: Use the list from the Department of Home Affairs. This occupation can apply for the 491 visa.

2. Meet the requirements for working and living in regional areas of New South Wales

All the following requirements must be met

–Have continued to reside and work in remote New South Wales for at least the past 12 months

–The work needs are related to the nominated position,Can only be provided by one employer, with an annual salary of at least 70,000 Australian dollars (if less than 38 hours per week, the same proportion will apply)

-Deemed skilled by NSW: Work performed after professional assessment deductions (if there are deductions), and relevant work must be claimed on the EOI

Pathway2 is to submit EOI. There has always been no so-called open and closed submission in New South Wales. EOI can always be submitted. Western Australia issued a new round of invitations on Friday afternoon, less than a month after the last one. As of the release of the weekly report, the state government has not released official data for this round.So let’s first analyze this round from the data collected from our customers and external sources.

–Architecture majorWith invitations in every round, the scores are going down, with a bare score of 70-75.The QS and architect professional clients we invited have all recently moved to the local area.

–Tourism service industryIt is also the priority industry to be invited to Western Australia this year, and the score is not high., this industry is not a priority in other states, and invitations are not so stable.Therefore, professionals from other states such as chefs, restaurant managers, conference and event organizers, etc. can consider Western Australia. If they are willing to move there, it will be more successful to be invited.

-BesidesMedical industry. This time, some overseas and out-of-state General stream sch1 (mainly medical-related majors) were invited.They are required to provide job offers, so it is still relatively uncertain whether these pre-invitations can actually be converted into formal nominations.

In the last round, Western Australia issued 2,501 invitations, most of which were given to non-local graduates.There are a lot of visual inspections this time, and the general stream is still the main one.

3. Latest news on VET skills assessment; Canberra state exams continue to be open

This week our domestic team participatedRoundtables and dinners hosted by VETASSESS in Beijing and Shanghai, aiming to communicate closely with migration agents to solve questions and difficulties in the application. Due to the explosion of overseas skilled immigrants last year, VET applicants increased a lot. At the meeting, VET provided many valuable internal opinions and shared its views on some new migration policies in the future.

With the addition of new staff, the review efficiency increases:

The current expedited queuing time has been shortened from one month in the initial stage to less than one week, recently VET has no backlog of applications that have not entered the expedited channel, and it can be said that they are available immediately.VET in the near future65 new assessment officers recruited, it is expected that the processing speed will be greatly increased in the future, and they will continue to optimize the priority channel.

Skills assessment will not be canceled in the short term:

VET is Australia’s largest vocational assessment agency and is responsible for the most occupations.So they have also invested in migration changes and changes to the occupation list together with the Department of Home Affairs and the Bureau of Statistics.They said that currentlySkills assessment will continue to exist for a relatively long time. This week I will share another “good news” of 491 to 191. Now every week, 491 to 191 applications are issued, and the submission time is at the end of October, and the approval speed is very fast. This week we have a group of customers who have a special signing.They have not lived in Australia for three years.

The client applied for 491 overseas in October 2020. Due to the epidemic, he did not enter Australia until November 2021. After that, he was in a regional area of Australia and transferred to 191 requirements in October 2023.(At this time, they have held 491 for 3 years, but have lived in Australia for less than 2 years), and finally signed it successfully this Friday.

This is proved by examples,491 to 191 (provisional stream) does not have mandatory requirements for the length of residence in Australia.

Sch1 requirements for visa applicationThe main applicant has held the 491 visa for at least 3 years

The Sch2 in charge of signing requires the main applicant

①Clause 8579 is met during the period of holding 491,Clause 8579 requires that the visa holderWhile in AustraliaTo meet the requirements in regional areas

Therefore, the requirements for transferring to 191 are:

-Hold 491 for at least 3 years

– Provide NOA for at least 3 fiscal years

-It does not violate Article 8579 when in Australia

soTime spent overseas does not need to be made up at home., so you can transfer to 191 if you have lived in Australia for less than 3 years.

As more people successfully transfer to 191, 491 to 191 has also been proven:It is possible to work at a home office for a big city employer in a regional area, or it is possible to have no job but can provide a NOA.
