State 190/491 programs are entering a stable invitation cycle! What should you do right now to secure an invitation?

Subclass 190 / 491 status now

Policies confirmed + applications open + invitations imminent

As of the 24th, with South Australia opening its onshore ROI channel, the main streams of every state-nomination program are essentially open for lodgement, and NSW Subclass 491 Streams 1 and 3 will also open in mid-January.

At last week’s MIA state nomination briefing, each state government gave at least some indication of their upcoming invitation schedule — most intend to invite monthly. Because this year’s final quotas were allocated relatively late,Most states issued very few invitations in the first 4-5 months of the 2025-26 program year, so we should now see state-nomination invitations going out much more frequently.
