Australian 482 Temporary Skill Shortage Visa

The Australian Subclass 482 visa (Temporary Skill Shortage) is a 2-4-year work visa, the successor to the former Subclass 457 employer-sponsored visa. It currently has four streams: Short-term, Medium-term, Labour Agreement, and Subsequent Entrant (family member). Holders of a Short-term or Medium-term 482 who work for an approved sponsor in their nominated occupation for 2 years can then apply for the Subclass 186 permanent-residence visa.

“I applied for the 482 Short-term stream as a chef. Newstarsec guided the employer nomination process end-to-end and my visa came through smoothly. I am now preparing for the 186 permanent residence — thank you so much!”

“I am an IT engineer and came to Australia on a 482 Medium-term stream visa. Newstarsec’s guidance on the skills assessment and document preparation was highly professional — the whole process was stress-free.”

Linda Z.

“I was devastated after my refusal, but Newstarsec analysed the reasons and successfully overturned the decision on review with the Department of Home Affairs. Their grasp of the policy across each 482 stream is deep — they are genuinely trustworthy.”
