GTES Application Process

The GTES visa uses a unique email-based application process — distinct from the online lodgement used for most other visas.

1

Email Enquiry

Send an enquiry email to the Global Talent programme team to obtain an initial assessment and application guidance.

2

Lodge the Application

Once invited, the employer lodges the formal GTS application form together with supporting documentation.

3

Third-Party Assessment

Start-up employers must pass a third-party assessment that verifies technical innovation and commercialisation potential.

4

Sign the GTS Agreement

Once approved, the employer signs a GTS agreement with the Department of Home Affairs and gains sponsorship standing.

5

Obtain the Permission Request ID

After signing the agreement, a Permission Request ID is issued, which the applicant uses to lodge their Subclass 482 or Subclass 494 visa application.

GTES vs Standard Subclass 482 Visa — Key Advantages

The GTES visa waives the Labour Market Testing requirement, removes the traditional occupation-list constraint, and offers faster processing. It is particularly well suited to outstanding talent working in emerging technology fields whose occupations are not on the standard skilled occupation lists.

Client Testimonials

Stories from the international professionals who successfully relocated to Australia on the GTES visa.

“As an AI engineer, my occupation was not on the standard list so a Subclass 482 visa was out of reach. Newstarsec recommended the GTES pathway and I had my visa in under three months!”
